Day Three at Cardigan Mountain

We had another sing'along on the bus ride there. It was already lightly raining when we got to the lodge. We put on our rain jackets and started off on a short trail. We did a scavenger hunt to find cool plants using compases. We visited the old rusty car, sketched it, and talked about its story. Then we stopped at a firepit for a snack. We hiked back to our bags and ate lunch. Then we found a clearing in the woods, and played a tree auction game. Veronica, Avery and I dominated the boys. We changed for sports and rode the bus back to school. Then we missed the bus ride home because field hockey practice had been canceled and nobody told us. So Lauryn, Sophie, Auralia and I hung out in town until four-thirty.

I used the theme human-environment interaction to represent Friday. On Friday, it rained all morning. It was already raining pretty bad when we got to the lodge late because of the slippery roads. The rain caused us to put on all our rain gear and warm clothes. We walked on a man made trail to picnic tables where we did the compass scavenger hunt. Then we walked up the ski slope to see the old rusty car. Many years ago this hill was made for sking. Then the old rusty car was brought up to use the engine to power the pully system to pull you up the hill. The rain made the ground really slippery so we took our time. Then later in the day sports practices were canceled due to the weather.
